Geez Louise

By Billy Willbond

Geez Louise, remember way back in the day?

You took our young soldiers outside to play.

Ran them up hill you ran them down dale.

You were much tougher than a PTI male!

Years have passed since the Branch was disbanded.

You are now a Major, on your feet you have landed.

Serving your Country, lo - these many long years,

through times of laughter, sadness and tears.

Now you’re overseas, serving in Afghanistan.

You are doing the job, the best way you can.

Friends are so proud of your Service o’er there.

Please come home safe to all of us who care.

Brian Harrison reports:

I have been having problems with my knee for a few years now and living here in Florida made it hard to get medical attention. Our Canadian VA decided to recognise me as a Vet living in the US as a permenent resident. Because of this, they arranged to have me go to Tampa VA hospital, get my knee replaced, get physio there and Canada VA paid for it all, including medications.
This has no impact on my Veterans pension. Don't know if you have come across this before but I thought it would be interesting to share with our fellow retirees. There is a special phone number ( 1-888-996-2242) direct to Canadian Vets USA for my use as well.  Oct 2008
